NEW Sleek Matte Me Lip Creams (2)

Hello! I am back with another lipstick post. I hope you liked them!

Recently, Sleek Makeup launched SIX new shades of their matte lip creams line. They are Shabby Chic, Bittersweet, Velvet Slipper, Old Hollywood, Vino Tinto, and Fired Up. I bought the lip creams from Zalora for 450 pesos each.

I already have all the old shades (swatches soon too!) but the new shades are more wearable especially for Filipino skin tones. (Reviews of Birthday Suit & Rioja Red)

Matte Me is a matte finish liquid lipstick that glides on in one smooth application, with no need for a second coat.

The light as air texture provides you with comfortable wear for hours, that doesn’t cake, flake or dry out, ensuring long-lasting colour all day.

HOW TO

Step One:
Apply with precision using the applicator provided or with your finger tips evenly, layering colour and intensity as you go.
Step Two:
Part your lips, and gently blot using a tissue to remove any excess.

I did not get all the new shades because the darker ones are like lipsticks that I already own or I do not wear often. The three that I picked up are the bestsellers, I think! They are more wearable and suits many skin tones.

Let’s take a look!

I like the doe-foot applicator of these lip creams because it is easier to use especially on the corners of the mouth. It also does not load up a lot of product. The applicator before was a flat paddle so it is not easy to maneuver.

NEW Sleek Matte Me Lip Cream Shabby Chic

Shabby Chic is a muted dark pink. I highly recommend this shade because it is not too bright nor dark for everyday wear. You won’t get glares while wearing this shade in the office. Ha!

NEW Sleek Matte Me Lip Cream Bittersweet

Bittersweet is a pretty coral pink. If you want a brighter shade, then this is your best bet. It is not too striking, so it is still very wearable. This shade did not wash me out nor looked weird on my medium skin tone.

NEW Sleek Matte Me Lip Cream Velvet Slipper

Velvet Slipper is a muted deep plum. This shade is darker than what I expected but still looks so pretty on the lips! This is the first shade that I wore and loved it! I still find it wearable for my skin tone. It might be a little dark for fair-skinned people.

OVERALL THOUGHTS

I find that the older shades dry faster than the new shades. I feel a bit of stick for a while when I wore the new shades. I still like the formula because they are not so drying like the Kylie Lip Kit! (review coming!) These lip creams can emphasize lip lines and chapped lips so exfoliate and prep before wearing them. They do not make my lips drier or peel at the end of the day, so I really like that! These are not oily food friendly just like most matte lipsticks, but I love that they do not flake off once set. If you want a more precise application, I suggest to use a lip liner like what I did above. For 450 pesos, I think that this is a good product if you want to try matte liquid lipsticks.

I feel like I always gravitate towards the dark pink shades like Shabby Chic as I’m scared I might not be able to pull off bright colors or the corals, but looking at Bittersweet on you, I might be able to get out of my comfort zone. Thank you for sharing these new shades with us! 😊
