e.l.f. Studio Face Brushes that You Should Try!

ELF BRUSHES

It is important to have great quality brushes to do better makeup application. I always hear beauty gurus talking about how you should have the right tools so that it will be easier to apply makeup. My first brush collection sets were from Real Techniques, they are the Core collection, and the Eye Starter Set. They are great quality brushes and they really help apply and blend my makeup well. The great thing is that all of them are still with me until now even after so many washes.

Real Techniques brushes are only available online then, so I thought of looking for brushes that are locally available. I have heard so many high praises for e.l.f. Studio brushes that’s why I bought some to try for myself. I have bought several brushes already but I have these five face brushes that I always use, and I can say are my favorites!

Each face brush costs about Php 250+ now, but I bought some of them before for less. In the U.S., they cost only $3.00 each. They are anti-bacterial, synthetic haired Taklon brushes that are softer and more absorbent and can be used with wet or dry products.

Let’s now take a look!

ELF POWDER BRUSH
ELF POWDER BRUSH

The e.l.f. Studio Powder Brush is my most-used brush. It has soft bristles, and it is dense enough to buff my powder or liquid foundations. Lately, I have used mostly powder foundations, and bb powders, so this brush is the one I mostly use. I also have the Zoeva Buffer brush which I also use if this is dirty. I actually have two of this powder brush that I rotationally use.

ELF BLUSH BRUSH

My next favorite is the e.l.f. Studio Blush Brush. I actually don’t use it for blush but to set my under eye concealer. I bought two of this brush too because I always bring one inside my makeup bag. It has the perfect shape for patting powder over my concealer, and when I retouch my face after blotting. The pointed tip can be used to actually contour the face, and apply bronzer over the perimeter of the face, and hair-line.

Like the powder brush, this has soft bristles, and I did not experience shedding after a gazillion of washes. 😀

ELF STIPPLE BRUSH

The e.l.f. Studio Stipple Brush is used to apply wet or dry products in a “stippling” way. I don’t actually use this for foundations, but for much pigmented blushes. It allows me to control the amount of blush I apply on my cheeks, and the result is always beautiful. I got this tip from beauty vloggers as well. 🙂

ELF ANGLED BLUSH BRUSH

The e.l.f. Studio Angled Blush Brush is what I use to contour my face with bronzers. It is very dense, but the bristles are still soft when I sculpt my face with it. I actually bought this for my NARS Laguna powder that is included in my NARS The Happening Palette because it fits perfectly on the small pan. This is also perfect to apply cream contours!

ELF COMPLEXION BRUSH

ELF COMPLEXION BRUSH

The e.l.f. Studio Complexion Brush is best for finishing powders, and for what I mostly use it for, blushes! It has soft bristles and shaped perfectly for my cheeks. It does not pack a lot of pigments and it blends the powder evenly upon application.

The complexion brush is <3
I was going to get Real Techniques' HUGE powder brush pero I thought, since I already have this, it can wait.

I don’t use the RT powder brush nga eh because I love the buffer brushes more. Tama, the complexion brush is enough muna. Pag nasira na lang yan. Hehe. 🙂

Great review! As an aside, how are you liking using BB powders? Any recommendations? I’ve never tried anything but classic BB creams.

    Juvy Posted on 12:17 am - Feb 14, 2015

The only BB powder I’ve tried is a Japan brand called Heroine Make BB Powder. Hope you can find it! 🙂

They have enough body naman? My problem with drugstore brushes is that sometimes they’re too… bare. As if they lack strands.

    Rae Posted on 9:12 am - Feb 15, 2015

    Singit lang.
I can vouch for the flat powder brush and the complexion brush. They have enough strands and they’re not flimsy. They’re also surprisingly soft and non-scratchy.

    Juvy Posted on 12:12 pm - Feb 15, 2015

For me, they have enough hairs, and for the price, sulit na. You can always check naman before you buy. Napaka-friendly ng mga SA sa drugstores diba. Haha!

Nice review! These are pretty cheap compared to most brushes, but it’s still functional and sounds like a great buy. I’ll check these out! 🙂

    Juvy Posted on 12:08 am - Feb 27, 2015

Aww thank you, Shayne! I enjoy taking pics more than reviewing the products. Haha! The brushes are between 250-275, if I recall correctly. I will check maybe tomorrow if I drop by Watsons.

Fati Recede Posted on 7:23 am - Apr 7, 2015

I only have the ‘Complexion Brush’ one only but what I’ve been itching to try is the stipple brush one. Been hearing and seeing great reviews with that one. And I really love ELF products because of its good quality and affordability. 🙂

    Juvy Posted on 7:26 am - Apr 7, 2015

Almost all the elf Studio line brushes are great quality. Hope you can try the stipple brush soon and let me know what you think! 🙂
