Hair Tools: JML Wet Straight Pro Hair Straighteners

JML Wet Straight Pro

Happy Monday! I am actually reposting this blog from my old one, because it might be more useful now that I have more readers! Hehe.

I purchased this hair iron from Watsons. The sales woman told me to choose the JML brand because it works both as a straightener and a curler, plus, it has temperature control, which makes it safe to use even on children, and you have better control of how much heat you want to apply to your hair. It costs Php 2,500, which is costly, but I considered it as an investment and I trust that it would be working for years!

Yes, it has worked for more than two years now! I don’t normally iron my hair everyday, but if I do, this works wonderfully. It is very safe to use for wet hair, but since I have a very thick hair, I normally air or blow dry my hair first so that it won’t take me a long time to finish.

Let’s take a look at the features more closely…

JML Wet Straight Pro Bag

The Wet Straight Pro has its own bag. Inside, there is a pad that separates the iron from the cord. I find that the pad is very useful especially if the iron plate is still hot. It protects it from melting the cord. 🙂

Sorry for the blurry photo. >_< But, let me share what the website says about this hair iron because I can’t put them into better words. Lols!

The special ionic function seals hydration into the hair cuticle while damp. All excess moisture simply evaporates away through the hair ventilation holes. Your hair’s unique moisture balance is restored leaving you with nourished healthy results from root to tip. The anodised thermal plates reach high-styling temperatures of 210°C in just 120 seconds!!!!

Ok, that sums it all up. It is really pretty amazing, I swear to you. I am really very impressed when I use this because it does the job in no time. I also don’t smell my hair burning. I normally use a heat-protectant spray first as a precaution, but even if I don’t, this works great for me.

JML Wet Straight Pro Temp Control

So you can see the “Temp” button, which allows me to control how hot the plates should be. I normally use the hottest temperature which is 220 C.

JML Wet Straight Pro Grip

The picture shows the design for easier grip. The hair iron is actually like the texture of NARS’ palettes. The rubbery texture is very classy and great quality.

JML Wet Straight Pro Ridges

This straightener works as a hair curler too! These “ridges”, as what I call them, help “trap” the hair in place to make those luscious curls!

JML Wet Straight Pro Plug

Lastly, you need to have an adapter to use this hair tool because the plug looks like this. Not a big thing for me though because the adapter does not cost that much. You can get it from ACE Hardware or other similar stores.

I won’t be showing how my hair looks when ironed, because obviously you already know how that looks like, right? Hehe. I used it to curl my hair, and boy, the result is pretty amazeballs! It takes time to learn how to curl the hair using a straightener but there are plenty of tutorials on YouTube! 🙂

I am still an amateur using it as a curler but I never expected a nice wavy, beach curls. Hehe. I hope this review helps! I hope I didn’t bore you too much because my topic is not about makeup.

I will have juicier reviews and looks coming up so stay tuned! 🙂

Have a lovely week!

Really nice review! I don’t really iron my hair (like really DON’T), but if ever I do, I think this would be perfect. It’s a little cheap too, considering the other brands on the market.:D

I have that one too. Been using it for almost 3 yrs I guess. And I love it as well. 🙂 Easy to use on both straightening and curling. 🙂 Durable too. I had my hair rebonded recently and I’m having falling hair issues so I wasn’t able to use it lately. #newmumproblems.

Welcome, Genzel! Akala ko dati sayang lang yung pera ko but now, sobrang naappreciate ko ito. It doesn’t dry out my hair and it heats up easily. Super bilis ko mag-ayos because of this straightener. 🙂

    Juvy Posted on 4:03 am - Aug 25, 2015

I honestly didn’t notice, but I don’t think it does.

Ask ko lang bakit hindi na ganun ka smooth gamitin ung saken na plantsa? Same brand naman. Kaso di ko lang alam how to fix although nagagamit pa naman kaso since ginamit xa sa wet hair nag iba n ung pinaka plantsa nya. Unlike nung una. Please help me with this. Thanks

    Juvy Posted on 12:04 am - Nov 6, 2015

Hi, Gen, there might be some gunk on the plates that makes it not work like normal. You might want to have it checked where you bought it. I have thick hair, so I usually air/blow dry before I use this tool. I never had any problems since.

Hello. Do you use it until now? If yes, do you use it everday and doesn’t make your hair dry and brittle? I am planning to purchase their newer version which has steam in it.

    Juvy Posted on 3:09 pm - Dec 26, 2016

Yes, I am still using it but not every day. You can use a heat protectant spray to lessen the damage. ☺

Hi i have that iron too kaso nabili ko lang sya sa friend ko. Is it normal po ba na namamatay sya once na i set na sya sa low temp? Thanks po.

        Juvy Posted on 12:57 am - Mar 8, 2017

Hi Danah! I usually use it sa highest temp but, I do not think it is normal na mamatay siya sa low temp. It is best to ask the sales rep sa mall to be sure.
