Project Vanity x Ellana Mineral Cosmetics Life-Proof Eyebrow Gel Review!

Ellana Cosmetics is one of my trusted local brands. I’ve been using their products since they started because my sister introduced me to them. I love their primer, lip and cheek gel, powders and more! Thank you so much PV team for letting me try your new eyebrow gels in collaboration with Ellana Cosmetics! I am pretty busy lately but, at last, I got to try the product out and do my review. One word, IMPRESSIVE!

Packaging

Of course, the box and the cap are PINK! The product is housed inside a lightweight, acrylic jar that is very travel-friendly! The cap closes tightly which is nice. The ingredients and directions for use are printed on the box.

Price and Amount
Each brow gel costs 499 pesos and there’s 4 grams/0.14 oz of product. It looks small but, A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY! I think that a jar will last for a year or so!
Shades
There are three shades to choose from – Light Brown, Red Brown and Dark Brown

These shades can be mixed and matched per your preference. I personally like the red-brown shade because my hair has a red tint and it matches perfectly. My natural eyebrow hair matches the dark brown shade. I can also like the light brown shade because it makes my eyebrows look softer.

How to use

1. Dip a soft, angled brow brush into the product.
2. Wipe off excess on the cap.
3. Apply in light, hair-like strokes to your brows, pushing down where hairs need extra grip/hold.
4. Blend pigment with a spoolie.
5. For the most “natural” effect use a dark color for the bottom and tail of brows, blended with a lighter shade for the beginning and top of one’s arch.

By the way, I used a classic liner brush from Zoeva to draw fine hairs and sharper tail. It was a breeze to use!

Texture

Seeing it in a plastic jar, I thought that the product will be hard and dry but, I was wrong! There’s a sprinkle of sorcery in it because when my brush touches the product, it melts! The product looks hard but melts with the touch of a brush. I hope that you get what I mean! I was able to get the right amount of product on my brush and it allowed me to apply and blend easily. It gives me enough time to blend before it sets completely.

Longevity

Again, IMPRESSIVE! I work in an airconditioned office but, I walked more than 2 kilometers to ride the bus home that day. I also have an oily T-zone so I blot my face often. I wore the eyebrow gel from 11 PM to 2 PM (from work to home) and my eyebrows still looked full and nice. I noticed a slight fading on the upper part of my eyebrows but it is barely noticeable. I always worry about the eyebrow tail fading because I have short eyebrows but, this eyebrow gel did hang on until I took it off.

Is it worth it?

Yes! This product beats one of my favorite high-end eyebrow products, the Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade. The price is quite expensive for some but I swear that you will get your money’s worth and it looks like it’s not going to dry quickly. It is long-lasting, smudge-proof and waterproof so you won’t worry about your eyebrows throughout the day.
