FENTY BEAUTY Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick in SPANKED | Review & Swatches

It’s February and my birthday month so I gifted myself with one of the FENTY BEAUTY Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipsticks! It was hard to decide if I should buy because I honestly don’t find them that interesting and I can find similar shades in my (huge!) collection. I also feel like the formula is not unique anymore but, since I love Rihanna, I finally tried one shade!

Before anything else, let’s read what Sephora says:

What it is:

An ultra slim lipstick with a longwearing, petal-soft matte finish.

What it does:

Rep every mood in full-on colour. High-intensity pigment meets 14 unexpectedly universal shades to complement all moods, all skin tones, all day. Whether you’re looking for the perfect red, everyday nude, or moody blue, Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick makes it easier than ever to rock the entire rainbow. Rihanna wanted to make the matte lipstick of your dreams a reality: Think mega rich color in a weightless formula. The ultimate light-as-air texture glides on creamy and stays put—no bleeding or feathering after application—with a velvety, soft matte inspired by a rose petal finish. And thanks to Mattemoiselle’s chic, slim design, you can effortlessly define lips with the ultimate control, for a fuller look with every stroke.

What else you need to know:

Fenty Beauty is 100% cruelty free.

Price & Where to Buy

Each lipstick costs 1,100 pesos at Sephora.Ph. Each tube has 1.7 grams of product. For comparison, Revlon lipsticks have 3.7 grams and MAC lipsticks have 3 grams of product. The FB Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipsticks are expensive!

Packaging

It comes in a VERY light plastic packaging. It looks great because of its shiny rose gold packaging but feels cheap. LOLs. It closes tightly which is nice!

Texture

Spanked glides on smoothly and it feels creamy and comfortable when I press my lips. It applies evenly with one layer and has a rich pigment. They were right that it is weightless on the lips!

Longevity

The lipstick leaves a mark on my coffee cup because it is not completely transfer-proof. I noticed that it sets after a few hours of wear. After I ate a sandwich & drank water, the lipstick felt more matte and it kind of stained my lips. It still looks great and even but I need to reapply because my lips felt a bit dry. It seems to disappear evenly which I totally like!

Scent

No scent nor taste. Awesome!

Worth the money?

Honestly, this lipstick is so expensive for me but, I love the formula enough to recommend it. I love the lightweight formula and staying power. It is worth a try but, if you are already satisfied with your drugstore lipsticks like the Maybelline Creamy Mattes or even Colourpop Lippie Stix then this can pass!

Hope that this review helped! If you have any questions, just leave them at the comments section below!

Until the next one!

I have the same lippie and I’m obsessed with the shade! Sits as well as Mac Chili on me. Enough color to amp up my look without being too “out there” and at the same time not too pale/nudey either. This is perfect even if I just wear it without other makeup. Will definitely need some dupes when this runs out.
