IN HER ELEMENT Nourish & Cleanse Balm Review!

Finally, another blog review! This time it will be a skin care product that YOU MUST TRY! I would like to thank Liz Lanuzo,  Founder & Editor-in-Chief of Project Vanity for creating and sharing this wonderful product with me but, I am not paid to make a review, guys!

simple skincare for busy women

In Her Element is a new botanical skincare brand that uses premium, plant-derived ingredients in clean formulations that are safe for skin. We believe that less IS more, but this doesn’t mean that efficacy has to be compromised in pursuit of simplicity. Everything we make is cruelty-free and proudly whipped up right here in the Philippines.

The Nourish & Cleanse Balm (30 grams) is a multi-functional, all-natural balm is formulated to nourish and cleanse your skin.

Uses

You can apply this on your dry patches like the lips, elbows, knees, and heels or wherever your skin is flaky to hydrate and smooth out the area.

You can use it to cleanse off your waterproof eye and lip makeup by massaging a generous amount of balm onto your skin to break down the makeup. Then, tissue it off until there is no residue. You may then go ahead with your normal cleansing routine.

Packaging

The product came is in a light and sturdy glass pot. There is a white and round plastic cover to protect and keep the balm fresh when you open the silver cap. It does not come with a spatula but, I personally do not use a spatula (to be honest!) but if you want to keep the product clean, use a cotton bud or q-tip!

Texture

It feels like a thin wax but it easily melts off when it is massaged into the skin. It turns into an oily texture when I massage it in a circular motion on my skin.

Scent

This smells like sweet Choco vanilla. No color and taste (yes, I tasted it. lol. kids do not try this at home. haha!)

DEMO
I used waterproof eyebrow products (innisfree tinted dual brow, dolly wink eyebrow powder & k-palette brow mascara), Maybelline Waterproof eyeliner and Maybelline Great Lash Waterproof Mascara on Picture 1 below.

Picture 2 shows the effect after I massaged about half a pea-sized amount over my eyebrow and eye. The balm quickly melted off all traces of makeup. The only problem happened when some of the product/gunk went into my eyes causing it to become a little red. It is best to apply a tiny amount to prevent that.

Picture 3 shows the effect after I wiped off the products with a wet tissue. The only trace left was the stain of my innisfree tinted dual brow because it is a very powerful brow tint!

It is best to wipe off the product with a wet tissue instead of rinsing with water. The first time I tested this, I thought that it works like a cleansing oil so I immediately rinsed it with water without wiping it first with a tissue. It does not work that way because it felt like wiping a petroleum jelly over the face. The lesson is: Read the instructions first! lol!

I love this as a lip balm and moisturizer! It dissolves the flakes quickly when I massage it on my lips. I usually apply this before I sleep and when I wake up, my lips feel moisturized and smooth. I haven’t tried it on other parts of the body but I trust that it is a great moisturizer for all dry areas of the body!

Is it worth it?

Yes, it is! It contains great ingredients – Coconut oil, Beeswax, Cocoa Butter, Choco Vanilla Oil, Vanilla Oil, Organic Red Colorant. I am willing to spend more on it because the product claims are true and a little product goes a long way! I also appreciate that it has an expiry date printed on the label (3 years!) and is also a cruelty-free product!

In Her Element also sells Pure Squalane Facial Oil ₱445.00, Spot Control Facial Oil ₱475.00 and First Wash Cleansing Oil ₱450.00. I am saving up to buy those products soon!
