Drugstore Finds: The NYX Cosmetics Lip Primer Review!
I have a lot of matte lipsticks and liquid to matte lipsticks that tend to make my lips so dry and my lip lines more visible. Applying a lip balm does not always cut it, so I am so happy that I saw this lip primer from my stash! I’ve had this for a while now and I purchased it from MakeupInboxPH.com for P275.00, but it is now being sold for P305.00. This is also available from our local NYX Cosmetics counters at SM Department Stores/outlets, but I do not have the price at the moment. (I will try to update this!)

BEFORE – Super Dry Lips!!!
AFTER – It smoothed it out, and provided a bit of moisture!
Packaging It is a twist-up pencil so need for a sharpener! Great!
Pigmentation It applies like a face primer. It basically just adds a smooth texture without altering my lip color. I have both the nude and deep nude shades, but they do not really have a big difference.
Texture This primer applies smoothly and it makes my dry, flaky lips smooth and slightly moisturized. It kind of feels like a silicone or wax and it is not like a lip balm that makes the lips slippery nor greasy.
Longevity I think it really depends on the lipstick that you apply over it. It just preps the lips for smoother lipstick application.
Scent It has a very faint sweet scent, but barely noticeable for me. It doesn’t have any awful taste too.
Bang for your buck Yes, it is worth the price for me. It is definitely one that I can recommend if you often have dry, flaky or chapped lips. It helps create a smooth canvas for easier lipstick application! This is Tati approved!!!
Hope that you’ll have an amazing week ahead! Let me know if you have tried this, and if you like it!

I never used a lip primer before ms. Juvy. Is it the same as lip serum or a lip balm? I used them before my lipstick for my lips not to dry. Is it best to use lip primer instead?

I use the Colourpop lip primer. I really don’t notice a difference when I use it so maybe I’ll give it a try again. Nice review, by the way.

This is the first time that i have read about this lip primer. And you said it doesn’t give that slippery, greasy feeling you feel when you apply lipbalms? That is actually what i dislike about some brands of lipbalms!
I can’t live without lipbalms. I even apply lipbalm before going to bed. My lips are prone to windburn and it worsens during the colder season. I have tried a couple of lipbalm brands and my current favorite in terms of moisturizing properties is Burt’s Bees. For a pretty and long lasting stain with average moisturization, my current favorite is from Sooper Beaute. I can’t apply lipstick without applying lipbalm first and now i’m thinking of trying this lip primer. Thanks for letting us know about this product, Ms. Juvy!

I didn’t know lip primers exist. cuz when my lips are dry and flaky all I know is I gotta use a scrub or apply lipbalm before using my matte lipstick

This was my first time to read about lip primer, I never heard about this product before! I think lip primer is better to use than lip balm. ‘Cos lip balm is a bit shiny unlike this. Hope to have this soon! My lip lines are always visible..
