Happy Monday everyone! Did you get your much-needed rest last weekend? Me? Absolutely! For sure, you will say that the weekend went by so quickly, and I can’t agree more! If you did not have your much-needed rest probably because you stayed up late for something like exams, work, or partying all night, you might have a very dark under eye circles or blemishes now and you want to conceal them! Fret not because I have some tips for you!
Today, we will conceal those unwanted areas on our face using the Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage. This retails for P1,750.00 and available at Rustan’s Glorietta or BeautyMNL.com.
This product promises to…Completely camouflage dark circles, minor imperfections and discolorations. The high level of pigment requires a very little product to achieve perfect coverage.
You may use a similar product if you have them already because the tips I will share with you are not exclusive for this product only! Let’s go!
The Secret Camouflage contains a unique two-shade system, one to match the skins depth of color and one to match the skins undertone, making it possible for every woman to custom-blend her own perfect shade.
I got matched to the shade SC-4 which is for Medium to Golden Skin Tones. Swatched above, the left side looks like a dark peach shade while the right side is a pale yellow shade. I can mix them together to get my perfect concealer shade.
Concealers and Correctors
Correctors brighten the darkest areas under your eyes, allowing concealers to both lighten and blend.
Concealers should blend into your skin, lightening dark circles and instantly making you look better.
Correctors are available for extreme under-eye darkness. When a regular concealer cannot fully lighten the under-eye area, a peach or pink corrector is used to counter the purple or green tone.
For pale skin, use bisque or light pink for your under-eye area.
For deeper skin tones, use peach or darker peach.
Steps in Concealing the Dark Under-eye:
- Start with a clean face.
- Apply a generous amount of corrector from the innermost corner of the eye and underneath to cover the darkest areas. Gently blend and tap with your fingers.
- Apply some concealer to blend into your skin.
- Apply some powder to set the corrector and concealer in place. This will ensure that they will last the whole day.
Steps to cover blemishes like pimples, scars, tattoos etc.
- Start with a clean face.
- Using a corrector, apply a generous amount to cover the discoloration. Note: You can use a green corrector for redness, or like what I did above, I used the same deep peach to counteract the redness.
- Apply the concealer that matches you skin tone to blend into your skin.
- Apply some powder to set the corrector and concealer in place. This will ensure that they will last the whole day.
So those are some few tips and tricks to conceal unwanted areas on our faces. Concealing those unwanted areas doesn’t mean that we are fooling people that we are flawless, but it helps boost our confidence to face people every day.
Going back to the Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage, I think that it is a great product because of how versatile it is. It is a bit dry in texture but using the fingers or warming it up on the back of the hand makes it more blendable and creamy. Once set, it lasts the whole day, and it really works as a full coverage concealer. It is a cult-favorite, and I agree!

The LM Secret Camouflage is my favorite concealer! My sister’s the one who discovered this and she LOVES this products. Love the tips and I also use peach correctors to help conceal my dark spots and bags. 🙂

A bit pricey but definitely worth a try. I’ve been looking for a good concealer to cover my imperfections. Can people with oily skin use this? Thanks!

Definitely for oily skin too. The texture is a bit dry so it won’t add up to any existing oils on our face plus it really is full coverage. Better set with a powder for longer lasting coverage! 😀

Sige. Will try this soon! Thanks!

Still using the one from K-Palette (Zero Kuma), but I almost got the single pot one (Secret Concealer ata?) from Laura Mercier. The SA was suggesting Secret Camouflage and we even went as far as to test it, but I got a little nervous about blending two shades. I wasn’t given so many tips at the time. Your instructions make it easier to understand. Silly me, I always thought you just mixed the two together before application. *facepalm*

You can customize it the way you want to! 🙂 According to the website, you can use the back of your hand as a mixing palette. I love how the darker shade can conceal even dark scars and pimples. 🙂

Hi! What shade are you in in Mac? Just wondering coz I’m torn between sc4 and sc5. Please reply. Thanks!
Juvy
Hi, Mikko! I do not have a MAC foundation but, I think I am NC30. I have an NC35 concealer but it seems to be a bit dark on me. Hope that helps! 🙂
