MAC The Simpson’s Collection “Sideshow You” Blush Review & Swatches!
I had a great childhood. I am proud to say that I was born in the 80s! I enjoyed playing outside the house, running around, playing chinese garter, tumbang-preso, luksong-tinik, patintero, and all those fun games! I also grew up watching different TV shows, and one of them is The Simpsons! Who wouldn’t know Homer, Marge, Lisa, Bart and Maggie?! 🙂
Anyhow, MAC launched a collection for Marge Simpson in celebration of The Simpson’s 25th anniversary. It includes vibrant colour collection that screams That Trillion Dollar Look! Sadly, it was a limited-edition collection, so it’s not going to be available for long.
I was lucky to grab the “Sideshow You” Powder Blush which is a light peach coral shade. Another shade is called Pink Sprinkles which is a cute blue pink color. The blush retailed for $24, but I got mine from CarefreeShopper for Php 1,500. There are few stocks left for Pink Sprinkles so hurry!
Also, the amount of blush is 9.5 g compared to the regular 6 g, so it’s going to last for a very long time! A regular MAC blush costs $22.
GORGEOUS! I can’t even describe how I love the engraved design! It is not like anything from my collection. Call me crazy, but I am so afraid that one day, I will have to destroy it. My game plan is to get the product inside the hair part first. Haha!
The blush when swatched seems powdery at first, but it is creamy and soft when blended on the skin. It has micro-shimmers that are barely noticeable on the cheek. It looks more matte. It also has good pigmentation even with just one layer. See pics below.

Frankly, the shade is not as unique as you can see from the comparison. It also looks so powdery when swatched but it definitely blends beautifully on the cheek. It is smart to try it on the cheek and not just swatch it. 😉
I’ve used this blush non-stop for weeks now because it is just so perfect for everyday! I can’t help but grab it from my stash maybe because the packaging attracts me to grab it more. The longevity of this blush depends on how good your base is. If I only used powder, it probably lasted for 5 to 6 hours. When I used a BB Cream underneath, I still noticed a hint of color up to the 12th hour! So this blush does not disappoint at all.
If you can find it on our local MAC stores, go get it. I learned that this collection is not yet released here in the Philippines. Once I get the release date, I will probably tweet it, so please follow me on Twitter! 🙂
I hope you find this review helpful and stay tuned for more reviews, EOTDs and random things!

Isa ka reng enabler e! I saw this at Mac Glorietta last time, I didn’t buy it. I saw MakeupByTiffanyD’s review and she didn’t liked it. I swatched it though and I seemed to like it naman kaso di ko lang alam bakit di ko binili. Perhaps it’s because of the Nars lippie, lol 😀

Yeah, the packaging got me! Also, I don’t have a lot of MAC blushes. This one’s my 2nd pa lang. Hehe.
Sabi rin ni Makeup Geek, too powdery daw, but it’s very nice on the cheeks!

I just posted my review of this actually and yes, you are so right!! The longevity of this blush is incredible! My face has become extremely oily after 8 hours and yet it looked exactly the same as when I first applied it on. And even with just powder underneath, it performed the same way on me.This is really a great buy!

This is soooo cute! I passed up on the MAC Simpsons line though. Would’ve gotten a lipstick if they had sana
