Unboxing Glamourbox September 2014: Flawless Beauty!

How was your weekend, ladies (and gents)? Last Saturday, El hub and I watched the movie “The Maze Runner”. It was very entertaining, and full of suspense. I got frightened several times because I was so into it! You will see familiar faces in the movie such as  Thomas Brodie-Sangster (Game of Thrones), and  Will Poulter (Chronicles of Narnia). You should definitely watch it!

Anyhow…

Today let me share my thoughts about the Glamourbox for September 2014 with the theme Flawless Beauty which aims to make us effortlessly beautiful with some few flaw-fixers to enhance our natural beauty. Without much blabbering let us now take a look!

The crowd favorite is definitely the Ofra Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Laguna Beach, 8 g, Php 950. This product alone already costs more than the Php 595 monthly subscription, plus the color suits most of the Filipina women.

The shade is actually a bit light for me, but I don’t really look too washed out, so it works! Since it is matte, it will emphasize lip lines. Application is a breeze because it has a liquid texture before it sets. It transfers a bit, but it stays for a long time on my lips even after eating or drinking. It reminds me so much of the NYX Matte Lip Creams. It has a sweet candy scent that I like.

My next favorites are these Ellana Minerals Lip Scrub in Strawberry Vanilla, 10 g, Php 165, and Ellana Minerals Multi-purpose Mineral Powder in Halo, 1 g, Php 160. The lip scrub feels soft, and it keeps my lips moisturized while I am scrubbing. But, the butter-like texture makes me use more product because the sugar doesn’t stay in place and they slip everywhere. I hope you get what I am saying! I like my Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub better because it’s not too slippery and I can just lick off the excess sugar, and not wipe off with a tissue. (#lazygirlproblems) Hehe.

The Ellana Minerals Multi-purpose Mineral Powder in Halo is used as an eyeshadow, eyeliner, blush, lip color, bronzer and shimmer! Wow! This shade is actually not white, but pink! I was quite surprised when I swatched it. The shimmer only shows when it catches light so you don’t have to worry about over-applying!

I don’t really have an acne-prone skin but I am still interested about these products from Belo Essentials AcnePro line. I occasionally have breakouts, most especially if it’s that time of the month, so these will come in handy. I am a fan of Celeteque Acne Spot Corrector Gel, so it’s great that I have an alternative with this Belo Essentials AcnePro Pimple Gel, 10 g, Php 149.75. I will also test these Belo Essentials AcnePro Pimple-Fighting Gel Face Wash, 50ml, Php 99.75 and Belo Essentials AcnePro Treatment Toner, 60 ml, Php 79.75, if I need to. El hub is actually happy about these bath and skin care stuff that comes inside my boxes, because we rarely buy them ourselves anymore, and we’re saving a lot.

These TRESemme Smooth and Shine Shampoo and Conditioner, Full Sizes are 440 ml, Php 275, are my current favorites because they make my hair more manageable after each wash. I hate it when I air dry my hair, and it becomes sticky or frizzy. Using these combo doesn’t do that, so I am glad that I have some few backups when I ran out of what I am using.

Last but not the least are these Beauty Republic Original Dramatic BB Tinted Cream and Beauty Republic Dramatic Green Touch BB Tinted Cream, Full sizes are 30 ml, Php 695. I have used the original version, and it worked pretty good. It helped keep my oils at bay for a longer time. This works effectively using the fingers to melt or break the pigment capsules, which I am not a fan of, so I don’t think I will repurchase this product anymore. There’s a coupon code along with the two sample BB Creams, as a bonus. I am still unsure if I will buy anything from their site yet.

Those are all the products inside my Glamourbox. Overall, I am happy to get makeup items which excite me most on all my subscription boxes, but there are still room for more improvements. I am pretty satisfied that most of the items are useful to me, but I hope that the next boxes will feature newer and more exciting brands.
