Tips and Tricks: DIY Natural Brush Cleaner!
July 24, 2014
My body and mind are seriously not working well this week because it’s that time of the month again. Ladies, you know what that means! I have a lot to share, but I can’t seem to start writing about them yet. But, I found this very helpful DIY project from thebeautydepartment.com and I am sure you’ll love it. I am excited to try this out too, to save some cash to buy more makeup. Lol!
So here it is:

All you need to do is boil some water, wait for a few minutes to cool it down a bit. Add distilled white vinegar, dip your brush and swirl it, reshape and then dry it flat. So quick and easy!
Do you have any other tips and tricks to clean your brush? Share!

Great tip, Juvy! How do the brushes smell after they’ve dried?
Juvy
According to the article, it disappears after about 20 minutes or so.

I’m a little OC, so i’d probably use a light soap after dipping the brushes in the vinegar water. :p
Juvy
Yeah, that will work too esp. if the vinegar scent is too strong. 🙂

hi juvy! interesting way to clean brushes! haha just judging from the photo though, sa “swirl” photo, I saw that the brush was dipped into the liquid too much. Since you asked for tips hehe suggest ko lang na you only dip your brush into the liquid until the metal part of your brush where the actual brush fibers end. Dipping the brush all the way to the metal part kasi will destroy the glue that keeps your brushes together. <3 Hope that helps!

Thanks, Maxie! That’s a great tip. I once washed my brush soaked in a basin. Hahaha! I agree that the metal part shouldn’t be dipped into the water.

How did it go?
