Product Empties & Mini Reviews #3

Product Empties Header

Hooray for empties! This is a very late post because I have already collected a lot of items in a paper bag. It is a big accomplishment for me to use up products, and even just hit pan on them. It means that I am able to get the full benefits of the product and the worth of my money. Honestly, there are some products here that already expired because I did not use them that much, but you’ll know why.

I love reading this kind of posts because I get ideas of what others are enjoying and those products may also work for me. I have used up a lot of bath products, but there are several beauty products as well. For now, I only featured beauty (and some skin care) product empties so that this post won’t be that long. I will probably post the bath products next, so stay tuned! Let’s now see what my empties are! 🙂

Beauty1

Clean & Clear Oil Control Film – I have been using this for ages, but I don’t remember if I was able to finish the whole pack until now. This product does not move my makeup at all when I blot my oils. I highly recommend this blotting film.

Beauty Blender – This is my very first beauty blender. I enjoy using sponges in applying foundation and blending out my concealers. This BB sponge cracked near the tip because I squeezed it too hard, or maybe it is just a dud. Also, it tends to grow molds quickly if not stored in an open space. I am now more careful when cleaning my sponges so that it won’t crack like this did.

Nivea Essential Lip Care – This is my favorite lip balm to date. It can instantly make my dry lips moisturized in just one application! The scent is subtle, and it does not taste bad. This is the very first lip balm that I was able to finish up! That’s how awesome it is!

K-Palette 1Day Tattoo Real Lasting Eye Brow Liner 01 – Natural Brown – This is one of the best eyebrow liners that I have used. It stays the whole day and can withstand sweat and water. It is quite expensive for Php 795 at Beauty Bar, so I no longer repurchased. I think I have gone through two of these before I switched to a different brand.

The Face Shop Lovely ME:EX Auto Eyebrow in Dark Brown – This is a great eyebrow liner because it is long-lasting and it doesn’t require sharpening. I like retractable pencils more because it is so convenient to use though it is more prone to breakage. This retractable eyebrow pencil is already phased out. Sadly.

The Body Shop Lip and Cheek Stain – I think this is my third tube, or maybe more. I have loved this for years! It is very easy to use especially if I am in a hurry. It also stays all day! The Body Shop also goes on sale often, so I can grab this baby for half off, anytime! 🙂

Etude House Color My Brows in Rich Brown and Light Brown – Said dupes of MAC Beguile and Girl Boy. I haven’t tried MAC’s though because there are a lot of cheaper alternatives such as these. They are only Php 328, and they can last for a month or two if used everyday. These eyebrow gels perform well. They do not make the eyebrow flake, and they keep my eyebrows in place all day.

Beauty2

L’occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream – I got this from My September BDJBox. I love how handy it is so it stayed inside my purse. It is moisturizing but not sticky! It also has a mild scent. I am not sure how much is the full size of this one.

Pond’s Gold Radiance Double-Action Radiant Eyes eye pen – I did not experience a noticeable effect on my under eye circles using this product but I love how moisturizing this product is. It is also very convenient to use, and the roller ball really gives a cooling effect when I massage it under my eyes.

Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief – I can’t tell you enough how I loved this moisturizer. It really absorbs quickly and my skin feels really soft and moisturized. Too bad it was just a gift with purchase, and I have a lot of other moisturizers to use up so maybe next time, I will buy a full size.

Skin Food Black Raspberry Eye Cream – This is another gift with purchase. I loved the hydration effect of this when I used it under my eyes before I sleep. I am not sure about the other claims such as anti-aging, anti-wrinkle etc. but it is a good eye cream for me.

Ever Bilena Concealer Stick – I have used this a few times, but it did not work for me. It doesn’t set and it slides off easily.

Careline Pimple Concealer with Tea Tree Oil – I usually use concealer for under eyes. Luckily, I don’t get a lot of pimples so I did not really reach for this product often. I read other reviews that it works in concealing minor redness and pimples, and helps to dry it out because of the tea tree oil.

Human (heart) Nature Perfect Coverage Mineral Foundation – I have used this several times, and liked it. I did not reach for it often so it reached the expiry date before I can use it up. That’s the downside of mineral products. It has a good coverage, but the oil-control power is low. It doesn’t cake up, and did not break me out.

Beauty4

Tony Moly Clear Magic Lip & Eye Remover – This is a gift with purchase. I really like Korean makeup removers in general. They do not sting my eyes, and they work well in removing any stubborn waterproof mascara. This Tony Moly makeup remover has a mild scent. It contains oil and water, so I need to shake it first before using it. I recommend this product! It costs less than 500 pesos, if I remember correctly.

NATURE REPUBLIC Magic Remover for Waterproof – Another makeup remover that works well. It has rosemary extract hence the mild minty scent, but it doesn’t bother me. It removes stubborn waterproof makeup as well. I also highly recommend this product.

Giggles Baby Wipes and Nursy Baby Wipes – I am not really particular with brands on baby wipes. I use baby wipes, instead of cotton, in removing my makeup. I love how the damp cloth together with the makeup remover works well in removing all the makeup. It prevents tugging, and putting more makeup remover to clean the entire gunk. I only use one sheet to remove everything. I think it is more economical to use baby wipes, instead of several cotton rounds.

Beauty5

The Face Shop E’thym O2 Water Moisture Lotion – This was my everyday moisturizer. It is very lightweight, and it made my face soft and moisturized. It did not feel greasy, and did not cause any breakouts. It also contains very good ingredients. It is said to be 5 free (mineral oil, paraben, Benzophenone, artificial colorant, and animal ingredients). This product is recommended for oily skin. Unfortunately, I heard that this is already phased out.

Celeteque Hydrolized Moisturizing Mist – I enjoyed using this product whenever my makeup got cakey, or I want a moisture boost. I usually spray this after makeup or even after washing my face. It instantly refreshes my face. I don’t like the sprayer though because it doesn’t dispense a mist. It sometimes sprays too much in one place. I transferred some into an empty Watsons bottle to dispense it more evenly on my face.

Evian Facial Spray – I bought this because I was looking for a good setting mist. It works for that purpose, but the best thing about it is that it dispenses a real “mist”! It doesn’t spray uneven droplets. It also gives an instant refreshing feeling when I spray it on my face. Don’t expect a lot of benefits though, because it is just expensive water. Lols.

Clean and Clear Essential Moisturizer – This is another great everyday moisturizer. It quickly absorbs and does not make my face greasy. It even mattifies it. I like using this to replace my primer if I feel like my face needs more hydration. I recommend this if you want a lightweight, everyday moisturizer.

Beauty3

Revlon PhotoReady BB Cream – This BB Cream provides light coverage, but it hides redness and evens out skin tone, and it smells like sunscreen! I no longer remember how well it lasted. I haven’t used this up, really, but the product seemed to have changed texture already so it’s time to let go.

Tony Moly Dear Me Petite Cotton BB Cream – This is one of my most used BB Creams because of its good oil control. It can be medium coverage if you layer it, but one layer can already even out skin tone, and reduce redness. I recommend this for everyday wear.

NYX HD Studio Photogenic Primer – I honestly didn’t use this that much because it is thick, and hard to blend. It also makes me look like a Geisha because the product is white. I also feel that it makes my face itch. Instead of keeping it, I decided to just toss it.

L’oreal Lucent Magique BB Cream – It’s a white cream, with micro-capsules that turn into your skin color when blended. I find it difficult to use because I have to use my fingers to blend, and it gets sticky. I don’t like using my fingers when applying my base. On the brighter side, it gives a nice coverage, and it can cover minor blemishes and even out skin tone. I also think that it brightens the skin without looking shimmery at all. If only it blends easily then I may have finished the whole tube.

Beauty Republic Dramatic BB Tinted Cream – This has the same formula as L’oreal Lucent BB Cream. It also has micro-capsules that turn into your skin color when blended. I think that it is a great BB Cream too, but I hate using my fingers to blend, so I didn’t reach for it often. You can purchase this from CarmenClaire.com.

So that’s my first batch of empties. I hope I did not bore you that much. Hehe. Did you use some of the products above? What are your thoughts?

Hope you have a great week ahead!
