MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Soft Ochre
MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot is a highly pigmented eye colour that goes on creamy but dries to an intense, vibrant finish. Long-wearing, colourfast. Creates seamless coverage without weight or caking. Blends smoothly over the lids. Cream-based, can be mixed with M·A·C shadows and liners. -MAC website.
I hear a lot of good things about the MAC Paint Pots. I want to try it out for myself too so I bought my very first shade in Soft Ochre, Php 1,265, at MAC Rustans. I watch a lot of beauty gurus on YouTube, and they often use this as their eyeshadow base. I bought it for the same purpose, because aside from primer, I also enjoy using eyeshadow creams as my base.
MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre is Yellow Beige in color. I initially chose Painterly, but it was out of stock, but then, I realized that I prefer this color more. I have yellow undertones, and when I apply this over my eyelids, it really makes it smooth and even. It is like a concealer, but better in my opinion.
The packaging is a glass jar. It is a bit heavy, so it is not really that travel-friendly. Maybe you can scoop a bit of product and put it in a plastic jar, if you don’t mind destroying its shape. Hehe.
I like to use my finger to apply this product. Doing so melts it a bit, and it glides on easily. I also think that I am not wasting a lot of product as compared to using a brush. I also observed that it sets quickly, so it requires faster blending.
I want to insert the ingredients list for those who want to know. 🙂
Here is how it looks when applied over my eyelids.
As you can see, my entire eyelid area was evened out. I am also impressed with its staying power. I did not experience creasing whenever I use this. It works as great as my favorite Maybelline Eye Studio 24/7 Color Tattoos. Hopefully, Maybelline releases more matte shades (aside from Tough as Taupe) so that it will be a cheaper alternative.
Overall, I really recommend this product, and the Soft Ochre shade as your first MAC Paint Pot. I am obsessed with it. I use it every single day since I bought it. It had been weeks, and it still looks good as new. The price is worth it, because it will last for a long time. Just make sure to always keep the cap on to prevent it to dry easily.
I am planning to get a different shade next time. Maybe Groundwork, and Quite Natural. 🙂

I’ve been wanting to buy this for the longest, lohohohohongest time! But always end up buying something else. Err, ang ganda. Kelan ko kaya ‘to mabibili huhuhu
Juvy

I’ve been wanting to buy this every since Nikkitutorials on Youtube raved about it last year. However, I still have a couple of eye primers left, so it would be unpractical for me to get it this time. Nice choice though ^_^

Ang ganda! I’ve always wanted to get this pero I get sidetracked easily.
Haha!

I’m choosing between this, Painterly and Bare Study. I want to make the perfect decision kasi ayaw ko na maghoard ng extra makeup 😛
Juvy
Painterly daw is for Pink Undertones, Soft Ochre for Yellow. Bare Study might be similar to Color Tattoo Barely Branded? 🙂

I’ve swatched them naman and I think they all have their use on me kasi e… Parang basic bases ko 😛 Painterly for cool shades, Soft Ochre for most of the others and Bare Study for shimmery (talagang nag-dahilan???)
Juvy
Haha! GO! 😀

Hello Juvy! ‘Ang daya! MAC Mega sold me a pot of painterly for P1350! I have this assumption that they overprice their products. Like their brushes. Last few weeks ago, I was about to buy the brush 239 pero when the SA told me it was worth P1800 hindi ko na tuloy. Inisip ko parang hindi ito ung price na nakit ko when I searched it online. Me gonna visit Shang na lang kung pareho sila ng price. LOL.
I want to try this Soft Ochre next visit!
Juvy
Whoa, bakit iba yung price! Ang weird! Yeah, soft ochre is a nice base! 🙂
